A clear overview of how a news platform may handle account information, analytics, submissions, communications and technical data.

Information you provide
This can include contact details, messages, correction submissions, job applications or other information intentionally sent to the newsroom. These submission fields are not copied into first-party analytics events.
First-party usage analytics
Margalla News records limited first-party usage signals such as page views, page/content type, language, meaningful interactions, referrer/source and UTM campaign information. Anonymous visitor and session identifiers are random browser-generated values; we do not use analytics fingerprinting.
Device and approximate network location
We may record broad device type and browser/operating-system family. When Cloudflare provides network geolocation, we may record approximate country, region, city and timezone. We do not collect precise GPS location for analytics, and network-based location can be inaccurate.
IP addresses and abuse prevention
Raw IP addresses are not stored as normal analytics records or exposed in the Insights dashboard. Network information may be processed transiently or transformed for security, bot filtering and rate limiting.
Retention and access
Detailed raw first-party analytics events are designed to be retained for about 120 days. Analytics are private to authenticated newsroom users by default; reports expose aggregate performance and recent activity without visitor identities.
News tips and sensitive material
Sensitive submissions should be handled carefully and retained only for legitimate editorial, legal or operational purposes.
Service providers
Hosting, communications and other necessary providers may process limited technical data when required to operate the service. Margalla News also uses its own first-party analytics layer rather than relying only on a third-party analytics dashboard.
Your choices
Users should be able to manage optional communications and exercise applicable privacy rights under relevant law.
