Tehran/Washington — Margalla News: Iran has proposed reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending regional fighting within seven days, while Tehran says it is awaiting an official US response.
Reuters reported that US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he had rejected the Iranian proposal.
The Wall Street Journal had earlier reported, citing US officials, that the Iranian plan included reopening Hormuz and halting regional fighting.
Iranian officials say the proposal has been delivered to Washington and that Tehran is still awaiting a formal US response.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical route for global energy trade, and restrictions there have put pressure on oil and shipping markets.
