Lakki Marwat — Three young men were killed and three others injured when gunmen opened fire on a loader rickshaw carrying people returning from a local cricket match.
The Express Tribune reported that most of those in the vehicle were local cricketers, with some also described as members of a local peace committee. Police said the motive and attackers’ identity were under investigation.
No group had claimed responsibility at reporting time.
In a September 29 follow-up, police and the Counter-Terrorism Department said a wanted alleged militant identified as Manzoor was killed during a joint operation in the Abdul Khel area. Police said he was wanted in several cases involving attacks on civilians and police and that the operation formed part of the search for suspects linked to the September 27 shooting. His alleged militant affiliation and role in that specific attack have not been independently verified and are therefore reported as police/CTD claims.
