Gardez — Authorities in Afghanistan's Paktia province have reported the approval of several development projects for the current Afghan solar year, along with the completion of some other projects.
According to TOLOnews, provincial officials say more than 2.5 billion afghanis in public funding has been approved for 33 projects. The report also mentions an additional $24 million in development projects.
Officials say the projects cover roads, electricity transmission, education, healthcare, agriculture and water management. Work is under way on roads and other initiatives in several districts of the province.
Approved funding and the number of projects should not be equated with completed construction. The impact of each project can only be assessed once work is finished, services begin and local residents receive the intended benefits.
