Industrial park projects launched in Balkh, Kunduz and Baghlan

Afghan authorities have launched industrial park projects in Balkh, Kunduz and Baghlan, including a 22,000-jerib site in the Hairatan area of Balkh.

Industrial park projects have been launched in Balkh, Kunduz and Baghlan provinces, according to TOLOnews. The foundation stone for the Imam Shafiq Balkhi Industrial Park was laid on 22,000 jeribs of land in Hairatan, Balkh. Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdul Ghani Baradar said the project was intended to provide space for manufacturers, reduce reliance on imports and create jobs. He also called for banking restrictions on Afghanistan to be eased and for broader economic engagement. Deputy Industry and Commerce Minister Ahmadullah Zahid said the government was encouraging domestic and foreign investors to expand production. TOLOnews reported that industrial park projects have also been launched in Kunduz and Baghlan.
