Afghan and Turkmen officials have discussed accelerating a 500-kilovolt electricity transmission project from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, alongside work on the Noor-ul-Jihad substation in Herat, electricity supply to Bala Murghab in Badghis and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power project. Bakhtar News Agency, citing Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat, said DABS executive director Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar met Murad Artikov, head of Turkmenistan’s international energy projects, and his delegation. The two sides reviewed progress and measures to speed completion. Pajhwok Afghan News independently reported the DABS statement and said an initial TAP roadmap is expected to be approved in the near future. Neither report provided a new final completion date, updated total cost or a full financing and construction timetable, so the development is best understood as progress in bilateral implementation talks rather than completion of the projects.
