Aleema Khan arrested in Lahore, ordered jailed for 30 days

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said Aleema Khan, sister of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan, was arrested at her residence in Lahore on Sunday. A notification from the Lahore district administration said she had been detained and sent to jail for 30 days, citing public-safety concerns. The arrest comes ahead of a PTI protest march planned for September 27 to demand Imran Khan’s release. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said a day earlier that the government would take measures to stop the planned march. PTI figures criticised the detention and linked it to preparations for the protest.
