Anthropic is considering releasing a new artificial-intelligence model as competition in enterprise AI intensifies ahead of an anticipated stock-market listing, Reuters reported, citing three people familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the company is evaluating the safety of the next model while considering a release. No final launch date or product schedule has been announced.

The deliberations come as leading AI companies compete for enterprise customers, investment and leadership in increasingly capable models. Reuters also placed the possible release in the context of commercial pressure ahead of Anthropic’s expected IPO.

At the same time, debate over the pace and safety of advanced AI systems has intensified. Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei has recently argued for a more cautious pace of development, highlighting the tension between competitive pressure and the company’s public safety stance.

Anthropic has not formally confirmed a launch, so the report remains a developing business and technology story rather than a confirmed product announcement.
