Two officers wounded in the attack on a security forces convoy in Hangu have died of their injuries.
According to sources, Captain Abu Zar and Lieutenant Shiraz later succumbed to their wounds. Six other personnel were also reported killed, taking the overall death toll in the incident to eight.
Security personnel and armed attackers also exchanged fire during the incident. Security was tightened in the area after the attack.
