Only three commodity vessels crossed Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, preliminary data shows

Only three commodity vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, down from four a day earlier and well below the 10-day moving average of about 15, according to preliminary ship-tracking data. Kpler data showed that all three vessels were exiting the waterway. The figures remain preliminary and may change because some ships in the region switch off their Automatic Identification System transponders during voyages. A ballast liquefied natural gas tanker also reappeared inside the strait on Tuesday after having last been seen outside the waterway several days earlier. The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical route for global energy trade, and unusually low vessel traffic continues to draw attention amid regional conflict and uncertainty over oil and gas supply.
