Global humanoid robot sales reached about 7,000 in 2025, IFR data show

Around 7,000 humanoid robots were sold globally in 2025 for industrial and professional-service applications, according to International Federation of Robotics data reported by Reuters. The figure offers an early measure of a market that has attracted large investment and widespread attention but remains small compared with established robotics categories. The IFR has begun a dedicated annual data collection for humanoid robots as commercial activity expands, and its official survey material says the programme is intended to improve market data for the sector. Reuters reported that many humanoids sold during 2025 went to research organisations or companies using them for AI development, testing and pilot deployments rather than routine large-scale labour. Automotive and manufacturing companies are among the early experimenters. The data indicate growing commercial activity, but they do not show that humanoid robots have yet reached mass deployment across factories or service industries.
