Ishaq Dar calls for concrete and verifiable action over use of Afghan soil

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar addressed the OIC Contact Group on Afghanistan on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York and called for concrete and verifiable measures to prevent Afghan territory from being used for terrorism against neighbouring countries, particularly Pakistan. According to Pakistan’s official account, Dar expressed concern over militant groups in Afghanistan and cited the recent Kohat attack while urging action against such groups and their sanctuaries. He also called on Afghan authorities to meet international commitments, ease restrictions on women and girls, promote more inclusive governance and facilitate the reintegration of Afghan returnees.
