Four members of one family were poisoned in Pul-e-Alam, Logar province, leaving a woman dead and three others in critical condition, according to provincial authorities.
Logar governor’s spokesman Mawlawi Mirwais Abdali told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident occurred on Friday night in the Refugees Township in Pul-e-Alam. The three surviving family members were transferred to Kabul for treatment.
Authorities have not determined the cause of the poisoning. Abdali said security forces had opened an investigation. At this stage, there is no verified basis to attribute the incident to a particular food, substance or criminal cause.
