Repatriation of profits and dividends by foreign investors in Pakistan fell 13.4% to $557.6 million in July and August, the first two months of FY2026-27, according to State Bank of Pakistan data. The comparable figure a year earlier was $643.7 million.

Outflows rose 13.3% month on month in August to $296.2 million, but remained about 15% lower than a year earlier.

Reports based on the central-bank data show much of the decline came from lower payouts in the power and financial sectors. Market analysts also linked the movement to payout timing, meaning the headline decline should not by itself be read as a direct measure of improvement or deterioration in new foreign investment.
