Cross-border e-commerce is often discussed as a battle over price. That misses the harder problem. A customer buying from another city or country is taking a risk: will the product match the photo, will it arrive, and what happens if something goes wrong?

Discounts can create the first order. Trust creates the second. Clear delivery windows, transparent fees, simple return rules and responsive customer support are part of the product, not administrative details.

Smaller sellers can compete with larger platforms when they communicate better. A modest catalogue with accurate information can outperform a huge catalogue full of uncertainty. The next phase of regional online commerce will depend less on who shouts the lowest price and more on who removes the most doubt.
