Online learning has made certificates easy to collect. That is useful for structure, but it can create a trap: people keep preparing for work instead of producing work.

A potential client wants evidence. Can you edit a clean short video? Can you write a landing page? Can you design a simple dashboard? Three strong examples usually answer those questions faster than ten course badges.

This does not make education irrelevant. Courses are valuable when they lead to visible ability. The practical sequence is learn, build, publish, improve. A portfolio does not need to be large. It needs to make the next employer or client understand what you can actually deliver.
