Pakistan U-17 football championship postponed over uncertainty in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

The Pakistan Football Federation has postponed the 2026 national U-17 Championship because of prevailing uncertainty in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The tournament had been scheduled to run in Islamabad from September 23 to October 4. According to the federation, the decision followed an assessment of the situation in the twin cities, with the welfare and security of players and other participants described as the main consideration. Eleven teams representing different regions of Pakistan were due to take part, including sides from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Islamabad. The event was intended to provide national-level competition for emerging players. A revised date has not yet been announced. Teams and players will now wait for further scheduling information from the federation.
