IMF Urges Fairer Taxes as Salaried Pay Rs629bn
IMF Regional Director Jihad Azour on Tuesday urged a fairer, more neutral tax system for Pakistan, as The Express Tribune reported that salaried taxpayers' contribution rose from Rs391 billion to Rs629 billion over two years of the IMF programme while retail, agriculture and real estate stayed largely untaxed.
