Afghan and Qatari officials have discussed expanding tourism cooperation, attracting visitors from Qatar and encouraging investment in Afghanistan’s tourism sector.
Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance and Administrative Affairs Qudratullah Jamal met Qatar’s ambassador in Kabul, Ali Marf Al-Qashouti. Afghanistan’s Ministry of Information and Culture said the talks focused on promoting the country’s natural landscapes, historical monuments and ancient sites, while also examining a formal framework for tourism cooperation.
Jamal described Afghanistan as offering opportunities for both tourists and investors. The Qatari ambassador stressed the importance of cultural ties and continued engagement between the two countries.
The meeting also covered opportunities for Qatari investment in tourism-related activity. Both sides linked tourism cooperation with broader cultural relations and said continued contact could help expand bilateral cooperation in the sector.
