Kabul — Ariana Afghan Airlines says it has increased scheduled cargo flights between Kabul and Delhi from one per day to two per day.

The airline said the additional frequency is intended to help Afghan traders and commercial companies move goods more quickly, safely and reliably between Afghanistan and India. The route is important for time-sensitive and higher-value cargo moving between the two markets.

The move builds on Ariana's broader cargo expansion, including the addition of a chartered Boeing 737-300 freighter with capacity of about 17 tonnes per flight. The aircraft was brought into service under a charter arrangement as part of efforts to strengthen Afghanistan's air-freight capacity.

Ariana says it plans to continue expanding air-cargo services to support Afghanistan's exports and imports and improve options available to traders.

The increase to two scheduled flights per day is an operational service update; it does not by itself guarantee any specific increase in export volumes or trade value.
