Dera Bugti — Margalla News: Eight suspected attackers and one member of a local peace force were killed in clashes after armed men targeted the residence of District Council Chairman Ghulam Nabi Shambani and a nearby facility in the Loti area of Dera Bugti, Balochistan. Three peace force members were also injured.
The incident began on Saturday night, while reports published on September 27 provided updated official details.
Dawn, citing police officials, reported that eight suspected attackers were killed and seven arrested. Arab News, citing officials, reported the same death toll but said six suspects were captured.
The discrepancy in the arrest count has not yet been resolved, so Margalla News is retaining both figures with clear attribution.
According to Dawn, the attackers used heavy weapons against Shambani's residence and a gas-company camp. The local peace force returned fire, and the exchange continued for more than an hour.
A peace force member identified as Fazal Khan was reported killed, while three others were wounded.
Some earlier reports had put the number of attackers killed as high as 13, but later reporting by Dawn and Arab News gives a figure of eight.
No armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attackers are therefore not being attributed to any specific organisation, including the BLA. Their identities and organisational affiliation remain independently unverified.
