Dera Bugti — Margalla News: Police have claimed that eight suspected militants were killed and seven others arrested after a clash with the Bugti Peace Force in the Loti area of Dera Bugti district, Balochistan.
Dawn reported that a policeman who was serving with the peace force was killed and three other members were injured during the clash.
According to the report, armed men attacked the residence of Dera Bugti District Council Chairman Ghulam Nabi Shambani and a gas company camp with heavy weapons in the early hours of Saturday. Bugti Peace Force personnel deployed there returned fire.
Sources said the exchange lasted for more than an hour and that heavy weapons, including rockets, were used by both sides.
Police officials said eight attackers were killed and seven others were arrested. They alleged that those detained were linked to a banned outfit.
