Dera Ismail Khan — Margalla News: Updated official figures say 12 people were killed and 35 injured when an explosives-laden vehicle struck the Aman Mela checkpoint in the Darazinda area of Dera Ismail Khan.

Dawn reported that Regional Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Maken said the dead from the blast included civilians and a Customs official, with no police or military personnel among those killed.

Later, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a Rescue 1122 ambulance transporting bodies near Aman Mela. Two rescue workers, Sharifullah and Imtiaz, were killed and another, Anees, was injured.

That brings the combined death toll from the checkpoint bombing and the linked ambulance attack to 14, while 12 deaths are attributed to the checkpoint blast itself.

Later AP-based reporting said Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the checkpoint attack. That remains an attributed group claim. Responsibility for the separate shooting on the ambulance has not been independently established.
