Kohat — Margalla News: The death toll from the deadly attack on a Police Lines complex in Kohat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rose to 23.
According to police and Counter-Terrorism Department officials, the dead included 17 police officers and six civilians, while more than 100 people had been injured.
The attack began on September 18 when an explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a mosque at the old Police Lines, after which gunmen attacked police facilities.
Security forces said all eight attackers were killed after an operation lasting about 21 hours.
A group calling itself Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen, which is linked to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur network, claimed responsibility for the attack. Pakistani authorities said they were also investigating possible foreign links of those who organised the assault.
