Herat — Local police said two people had been arrested in connection with the alleged robbery and killing of a shopkeeper in the city's Jebrail area. Police spokesperson Dr Sayed Masood Hosseini told Pajhwok that the suspects had come to Herat from other provinces.
Police officials said they launched an investigation and search after the incident, leading Guzara district officers to detain two people. Authorities say crime prevention measures are continuing.
This is the police's preliminary account. Whether a crime was committed and the responsibility of particular individuals can only be determined through evidence and due legal process.
