Kabul — Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, Afghanistan's electricity utility, says 850 projects involving power generation, transmission and distribution have not yet been completed across the country.

According to TOLOnews, many of the projects were started under the previous government. The utility says work has resumed on some projects, but others require additional investment and administrative action before they can be finished.

Breshna Sherkat has identified the completion of projects in areas with the greatest need as a priority. It also cited the completion of a hydropower project in Panjshir as an example of recent progress.

Delays in electricity projects can affect household services, industrial production, small businesses and employment. The figure of 850 represents the total number of unfinished projects; it does not mean every project is facing the same problem.
