Kabul — Afghanistan's electricity utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, says work has begun on four power projects worth 468 million afghanis in Kabul and Parwan. They include the expansion of three substations and a 220-kilovolt transmission line linking industrial areas.

According to TOLOnews, the proposed work is expected to relieve pressure on the electricity network and improve supplies to households, businesses and industrial users.

The report gives a target completion period of one to two years and an estimate of around 500 employment opportunities. Breshna Sherkat representatives say several other power projects are also under way nationwide.

These figures refer to projects being built and future plans. Their practical benefits and actual job creation will only become clear as work progresses and the projects are completed.
