Islamabad, October 13, 2026 — Pakistan has called on Afghanistan's Taliban government to prevent its territory from being used for armed attacks against Pakistan. Security and diplomatic tensions between the two countries remain high over the issue.

According to an Associated Press report on October 12, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar warned that militant groups operating across the border could threaten not only Pakistan but also regional peace. Islamabad maintains that armed groups, including Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, are able to find shelter and operate inside Afghanistan.

Afghanistan's Taliban government rejects Pakistan's allegations. Its spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, accused Islamabad of politicising the issue.

Given the conflicting positions, unverified allegations should not be presented as established facts. Border security, independently verifiable measures and diplomatic contacts will be key to any further developments.
