The government has raised fuel prices again. According to a Petroleum Division notification, petrol costs Rs377.91 a litre from 29 October after an increase of Rs1.85.
High-speed diesel rose by Rs1.75 to Rs399.82 a litre under the same notification.
Diesel powers freight transport and farm machinery, so increases in its price usually feed through to fares and the cost of everyday goods.
