The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says it has assisted more than 110,000 undocumented Afghans who returned from Pakistan to Afghanistan between January and October 2026.

The agency said on its official social media account on Monday, November 2, that the help was provided with support from the European Union. According to IOM, EU and IOM representatives visited service centres in Kandahar last week, where they met returnees from Pakistan receiving healthcare, protection and other essential services.

IOM said EU support had made it possible to provide these services to returnees. The statement did not give further detail on the type of help or overall return figures.

Pakistan is continuing its drive against foreigners living in the country illegally. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi also said on Monday that action against Afghans living illegally would continue in line with federal policy, while those arriving on valid visas would be welcomed.
