Pakistan is facing significant pressure from disruptions to liquefied natural gas supplies as conflict and shipping uncertainty in the Gulf reshape Asian energy markets.

Dawn, citing a Gastech market report, said Qatar and the United Arab Emirates supply the overwhelming majority of Pakistan's imported LNG. The fuel is important for power generation, fertiliser production and industrial use, leaving the country exposed when shipping routes or prices become unstable.

The report said the disruption is pushing Asian buyers to reassess energy security and diversify supply. In Pakistan, higher LNG prices and uncertain shipping could increase electricity costs and add pressure to other parts of the energy system.
