Two police officers assigned to protect a polio vaccination team were killed when armed attackers opened fire in the Jamalabad area of Nushki district in Balochistan. Police identified the officers as Muhammad Yasir and Abdul Rauf. The vaccination workers were reported to be safe.

According to reporting reviewed by Margalla News, the attackers fled after the shooting and took the officers’ official weapons. Security personnel subsequently launched a search operation in the area, while the local vaccination activity was disrupted.

The core details of the incident were reported by the Associated Press and local media. At the time this report was prepared, Margalla News had not found a credible public claim of responsibility from an armed organisation.

For that reason, the attack is not being attributed to the Baloch Liberation Army, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan or any other specific group without further evidence. Any later claim will be reported separately and assessed against official, local and independent evidence.
