Quetta — Margalla News: The death toll from a suicide car bombing targeting a passenger train in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, on May 24, 2026, later rose above 30.
Officials said the train was carrying Pakistani security personnel, their families and other passengers from the Quetta cantonment area to connect with the Jaffar Express.
The blast derailed the train's engine and three coaches, with two coaches overturning.
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility and said the attack was a suicide bombing. Reuters said it could not independently verify the group's claim.
