More than 1,000 players have registered for the second edition of the Afghanistan Premier League, according to the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
ACB spokesman Sayed Naseem Sadat told Pajhwok Afghan News that 500 of those registered are foreign players.
Registration opened on September 1 and closed on September 19.
The ACB says the tournament will feature five teams and is scheduled to be held in the final quarter of 2026.
The first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League was held in 2018.
The registration figure shows strong player interest in the competition, but the final draft list, team selections and full tournament schedule have not yet been announced in the report.
