India won the women's T20 cricket gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games with a 147-run victory over Sri Lanka on September 22.
Batting first, India scored 216 for three, led by Smriti Mandhana's 79 and Shafali Verma's 48 in a 99-run opening partnership. Richa Ghosh added an unbeaten 49 from 22 balls.
Sri Lanka were then bowled out for 69 in under 16 overs.
Mandhana became the first woman in international cricket to reach 11,000 runs across formats during her innings.
The result gave India its first gold medal of the Nagoya Games and retained the women's T20 title it had won at the previous Asian Games.
Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 31 runs in the bronze-medal match, a result already covered separately by Margalla News.
