A company from the United Arab Emirates has expressed interest in investing in a second Salang tunnel and a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Afghanistan, according to the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee.
The committee discussed the proposal at a meeting held on September 8 at Marmarin Palace. HHM Global Industry Group presented its interest in the two projects and in possible investment in other sectors.
Afghan officials welcomed the interest and said relevant ministries and government institutions were prepared to cooperate. The company’s representatives were asked to prepare detailed investment proposals for the tunnel, the pharmaceutical plant and any additional sectors they wished to pursue.
The projects remain at the proposal stage. No construction contract or final investment amount was announced in the statement, and the proposals are to be submitted to the committee for further consideration.
