Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment and Iran’s ambassador in Kabul have discussed expanding bilateral trade, exports and imports, transport links and investment cooperation.
ACCI chief Sayed Karim Hashimi met Iranian Ambassador Alireza Bikdeli and his delegation in Kabul. According to the chamber, the talks covered land and rail transport routes, port facilities, commercial exchanges and new opportunities for traders and investors from both countries.
The meeting also addressed the fifth National and International Imam Abu Hanifa Exhibition. Hashimi called for stronger trade relations and practical facilities for businesses, while Bikdeli said Iranian traders and investors would take part in the exhibition.
The discussions come as Afghanistan seeks to widen regional trade connections through neighbouring markets and transport corridors. The immediate focus of the meeting was on improving commercial access, movement of goods and investment opportunities between Afghanistan and Iran.
