Afghanistan’s Procurement Commission has approved 12 public projects with a combined announced value of about 2.7 billion afghanis.
According to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the approved portfolio includes hospital projects in Baghlan and Paktia, road works inside Kabul and electricity-supply and distribution networks in several provinces.
The commission reviewed additional procurement items alongside the approved projects. Some proposals were amended, sent for re-tendering or cancelled after review rather than being approved in their original form.
The package covers infrastructure and public-service spending across several sectors. The 2.7-billion-afghani figure and project count come from the commission’s official announcement. Implementation will take place through the relevant government bodies and contracts after completion of the required procurement procedures.
