Kabul — Margalla News: Former US special representative for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad has criticised Pakistan's past policies in response to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's remarks at the United Nations on the rights of Afghans.
Sharif told the UN General Assembly that the fundamental rights of the Afghan people, especially women and girls, must be respected.
Ariana News reported that Khalilzad responded on X by questioning Islamabad's commitment to Afghan welfare in light of Pakistan's policies over the past three decades.
He referred to his criticism of Pakistan's past regional policies and treatment of Afghan refugees, and said Afghanistan and Pakistan need much better relations and that a "reset is necessary."
