Helmand — A farmland-protection project worth more than AFN 49 million has begun in Sangin district.
Bakhtar News Agency says the work includes a 149-metre canal check dam and 1,169 metres of protective walls intended to reduce flood and rain damage. Local officials also expect temporary employment during construction.
