Nuristan — Margalla News: Hurriyat Radio has cited sources as saying Afghan border forces are continuing operations near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Kamdesh district of Nuristan province.
According to those sources, 25 armed men were killed and around 20 others were captured alive during the operations.
The sources said the group had attempted to cross the border and enter the area for alleged sabotage activities before encountering resistance from Afghan border forces.
The same sources also claimed that the armed men had been sent from Pakistan. That allegation has not been independently verified.
Pakistani authorities have not immediately issued a response on this specific incident, the reported casualties and arrests, or the alleged affiliation of the group.
Because the operation is reported to be continuing, the casualty and detention figures may change.
