Google DeepMind and Google Cloud announced on October 14 that they would provide up to 200 selected European researchers with access to advanced artificial intelligence tools. The companies said the initiative also includes a total of $3 million in computing credits to support scientific projects.
The available technologies include AlphaFold 3, WeatherNext, AlphaGenome, AlphaEvolve and AlphaEarth Foundations, according to Google. They are intended to support research ranging from molecular structures and genomics to weather prediction and environmental observation.
The initiative is part of broader European efforts to expand the use of AI in scientific discovery. Access is aimed at a selected research cohort and does not mean every listed model has been released for unrestricted public use.
