BIRMINGHAM: Aston Villa dismantled Fenerbahçe 6-0 in the UEFA Champions League league phase at Villa Park on October 14, 2026. Sky Sports reported it as Villa's biggest win in major European competition under manager Unai Emery.
Johan Manzambi opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a shot deflected past the goalkeeper. Nicolas Jackson scored in the 31st and 39th minutes to make it 3-0 by half-time. Ross Barkley converted a penalty in the 68th minute and added another in the 72nd, before substitute Tammy Abraham finished the sixth in the 90th minute.
Jackson and Barkley both scored twice. Sky Sports noted that Villa now have two wins from two in the Champions League despite a less convincing start to the Premier League campaign. Fenerbahçe head coach Ismail Kartal apologised to supporters and said the scoreline was not acceptable.
Match statistics cited by Sky Sports said Fenerbahçe suffered their heaviest Champions League defeat. Villa also extended a strong recent home record in major European competition.
Emery said he was delighted with the first home win and that the side controlled the second half better and scored three more goals after the break.
