ISLAMABAD: According to The Express Tribune, Foreign Office spokesperson Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan used his weekly briefing to condemn remarks by India's defence minister threatening action against Pakistan.
The spokesperson said restraint and a commitment to peace should never be mistaken for weakness, and that any aggression would be met with a forceful response. He said the remarks reflected India's hegemonic mindset and the risks its belligerent posture poses to peace in South Asia.
Referring to the events of May 2025, Khan said Pakistan had already shown its capability and resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He urged New Delhi to learn from last year, drop its belligerent posture and dangerous rhetoric, and act responsibly for lasting regional peace.
At the same briefing, Pakistan condemned the Houthi attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and reaffirmed support for Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and security, calling attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure unacceptable.
