Several country representatives left the room in protest while Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov addressed a meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee in Bangkok.
According to Reuters, roughly half the delegates attending walked out. The protest reflected disagreements over Russia's war in Ukraine and Russia's role in international forums.
Despite the disagreement, the committee adopted a joint statement on the world economic outlook. Committee chair Mohammed Al-Jadaan urged attention to global debt, energy and food security, conflicts and economic inequality.
