Afghan traders and industrialists in Mazar-e-Sharif have met an 80-member delegation from Uzbekistan's private sector to discuss expanding trade and joint investment.
The talks covered exports, secure money transfers, broader commercial ties and opportunities for joint ventures. Samples of Uzbek products were also displayed for the Afghan market.
The Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment said a payment platform developed with Ghazanfar Bank is intended to facilitate secure transfers for traders once goods reach Hairatan. Participants also highlighted Uzbekistan's role as a commercial gateway to Central Asia. Transport links, payments and cross-border trade have been recurring themes in recent private-sector engagement between the two countries.
