OECD cuts Türkiye growth forecasts and raises inflation outlook

The OECD cut its growth forecasts for Türkiye and raised its inflation outlook in the September interim economic report. The organisation now expects the Turkish economy to grow by 2.7% in 2026, down from a 3.1% forecast in June. Growth for 2027 was revised to 3.6% from 3.8%. The OECD also raised its headline inflation forecast for 2026 to 31.5% from 28.4% and increased the 2027 forecast to 24.7% from 18.3%. The outlook reflects pressure from energy and commodity prices, tight financial conditions and weaker domestic demand. The OECD still expects inflation to ease over time, but the latest projections suggest that price pressures may remain stronger for longer than previously anticipated.
