OpenAI’s annualized revenue run rate is approaching $70 billion, driven by rapid growth in business sales, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
A source familiar with the matter told Reuters that OpenAI’s enterprise sales have more than doubled since July, while its annualized revenue run rate has risen by more than 70% since the start of the third quarter. The source also said consumer revenue generated during the third quarter exceeded the company’s consumer revenue for all of last year.
The figure is an annualized run rate rather than actual full-year revenue. Reuters noted that the metric can differ substantially from realized annual sales because it may extrapolate a shorter period of revenue over 12 months.
