More than 20,000 people visited a three-day domestic-products exhibition in Paktia, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Commerce. The event was held at the Paktia University sports gymnasium and included 70 stalls displaying locally produced food and non-food goods.

Businesses used the exhibition to present products directly to consumers and meet other companies. Provincial officials said some goods were offered at discounts of up to 20 percent during the event.

Exhibitors said such events can help smaller companies build recognition and connect with retailers and customers beyond their usual markets. The attendance figure is supplied by provincial officials. The exhibition focused on marketing Afghan-made goods and creating contacts between producers, traders and consumers rather than announcing a new investment project.
