A group of 70 Russian tourists has visited Panjshir as part of a wider trip through Afghanistan. The visitors toured natural and recreational sites in the province and spoke about their interest in Afghan history, culture and landscapes.
Provincial officials presented the visit as part of efforts to attract more domestic and foreign tourists. State-run Bakhtar News Agency also reported the 70-person Russian group while citing official figures for broader visitor numbers in the province.
Organized foreign group tours remain a visible part of Afghanistan’s small tourism market. A single group visit, however, is best understood as one tourism event rather than evidence of a nationwide surge. A broader trend would require consistent data on arrivals, length of stay, spending and repeat visits across multiple provinces and seasons.
